How Roblox Became a $30 Billion Company Through Indie Game Developers

In the last year, Roblox nearly tripled its payouts to developers, the company still aiming to get more creators to spend more of their time building for the platform. The platform planned on going public  in early March, following its valuation at $29.5 billion. CEO David Baszucki, who founded the platform in 2004, sees gaming as an opportunity for people to turn gaming hobbies into jobs and wanted Roblox to encourage creatives’ projects. Most of the company’s following consists of younger kids and give them the opportunity to connect with friends.
