What if someone told you they knew you were going to end a relationship with them because of your Reddit activity, even before the thought even crossed your own mind? We’ve recently learned that Reddit is a big source of stock market information and inspiration. But researchers have proven that, through the shift in language use as well as the frequency of posts on the social platform, breakups among other big life changes can be seen at least three months before they happen. This goes far beyond suggestive posts known as “subtweets” and reflects a fusion between the complexities of emotional manifestations in the real world and how we choose to be in our virtual world platforms.
