Last month, super seller Amazon announced that it would be going into the doctoring business. While the company already provides primary medical services to many of its employees, mainly through Amazon Care — its online telehealth service — it plans to offer access to other companies to be offered to other workers. The in-person restrictions have made “seeing a doctor” through video chat platforms more common and Amazon seems to be taking advantage of this new way to do healthcare through technology. Despite the innovative move to health tech, Amazon also threatens to make healthcare even more exclusive than it is now, taking resources and opportunities to people who do not currently have access to them.
